What is two-factor authentication and why is it necessary?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a second layer of security to protect an account or system. It increases the safety of online accounts since it requires two types of information from the user. In the case of your Easisave account, two-factor authentication is achieved by inputting your username and password, together with generating a code from an authenticator app.

What shall I need to log into Easisave, following the implementation of two-factor authentication?

To log into your Easisave account, following the implementation of two-factor authentication you will need:
i) An Android or Apple smartphone or tablet equipped with a camera
ii) An authenticator app

What is an app-generated code?

An app-generated code is an integral part of the two-factor authentication process. This is a random 6-digit code that is produced through an authenticator app and is needed to log in and access your Easisave Savings Account. The app-generated code is only valid for thirty seconds.

What is a verification code?

Following the implementation of two-factor authentication on the Easisave platform, upon your first login, you will be prompted to scan a QR code, via the authenticator app. Once you scan the QR code, with your smartphone camera, a verification code will be displayed. This will need to be typed in the field below the QR code. This process will need to be completed only upon your first login, so as to enrol your smartphone with your Easisave account. If you change your smartphone, this process is to be repeated.

What do I need to do if I change my smartphone?

Before changing your smartphone, log into your Easisave account and click on My Profile. You will then have the option to unlink your smartphone. Upon your next login, you will need to enrol your new smartphone, to your existing Easisave account.

What happens if I lose my smartphone and cannot log into Easisave?

If you lose your smartphone and cannot access your account, kindly contact Easisave Helpdesk on helpdesk@easisave.com

From where do I download the authenticator app if I have an iPhone?

If you have an iPhone, the authenticator app will need to be downloaded from the App Store.

From where do I download the authenticator app if I have an Android phone?

If you have an Android phone, the authenticator app will need to be downloaded from Google Play.
